Dr. Aysegyl Timur was unanimously selected to become Florida Gulf Coast University’s fifth president in May 2023. She was previously Vice President and Vice Provost for Strategy and Program Innovation.

Dr. Timur received her PhD in Business Administration with a major in Economics from the University of South Florida. She received both her Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Istanbul. She is an expert on workforce development and was recently honored by the Florida College Access Network as a Workforce Education Innovator. Prior to joining the university team, she held a variety of faculty and leadership positions, including full professor of economics.
